Simplified process flow
  1. Material is placed on trays that sit on heated shelves inside a sealed chamber.
  2. A vacuum pump lowers the pressure inside the chamber.
  3. Moisture or solvent evaporates at a lower temperature, taking heat from the shelves.
  4. Vapours pass to a condenser for recovery, and the dry product is removed at the end of the cycle.
